Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Regulation

Implemented on 29th December 2006 the CPC Regulation allows national authorities to exchange information and cooperate with counterparts in other Member States in order to combat cross-border consumer fraud. Among the problems the CPC regulation will tackle are email scams, illegal prize draws, misleading advertising and pressure selling, phone scams based in other EU countries and timeshare and holiday club rogue traders.
