In what proved to be an exceptionally busy year for the UK European Consumer Centre, the centre’s consumer advisors saw a huge 51% increase in the number of UK consumers asking for help in dealing with complaints linked to EU traders.

The UK ECC’s annual report also shows that the number of phone calls that the centre (part of a network of consumer centres in 30 countries) received from UK consumers increased by 16% over the previous year.

Our consumer advisors dealt with 15,240 UK consumer cases, as well as almost 1,500 European consumer cases referred to us from our ECC-Net counterparts. ECC-Net has 30 centres covering Europe, plus Iceland and Norway.
